Schorr, Todd
Born in New York City in 1954, Todd Schorr began drawing and producing home movies at a very early age. His formal education was received at the Philadelphia College of Art, and after graduation he moved back to New York to begin his career as an illustrator for many clients, including Time Magazine.
As he began wanting to express more of his own ideas on canvas, Todd moved from NYC to rural CT and began creating pieces that would hang in galleries. His infatuation with the limitless potential of consumerism, and his influences from such varied things as the atomic/space age, Saturday morning cartoons, Revell Models, Testors glue, Mickey Mouse and commercial art from the first half of the Twentieth Century, became mainstays in his art.
